These photographs were taken at a beginners workshop given by Frances. Noone had played the pipe and tabor before. At the end of an hour everyone was playing a simple tune, as they walked, and some accompanied themselves with a percussion instrument too.

If you are running a festival or event and would like a pipe and tabor workshop to add to the fun for adults and older children. Course tutors are available in most parts of the UK; percussion instruments can be loaned out for the workshop and three-hole whistles can be provided for sale at the time costing about £6.50 each, if required.

Individuals who would like to learn the pipe and tabor, or players who would like to improve their range of tunes or techniques, can arrange for private lessons from a member of The Taborers Society.
