Thomas Rowlandson, London, England, 1756 - 1827. He became one the of most famous political lampoonists and caricaturists of his age. There was little censorship at the time and some 'vicious' cartoons were drawn of political figures: even Royalty did not escape. Many of his other drawings depict various aspects of the ordinary life of the people.
