1210 A guide for young traveling minstrels, which details the foundational etiquette, repertoire
and multi-instrumental skills required to entertain medieval courts and crowds:
“ a Jongleur must play the Pipe and Tabor, the Citole, the Symphony, the Mandore, the Manichord,
the seventeen-stringed Rote, the Harp, the Gigue, and the Psaltery with ten strings.”

'Conseils aux Jongleurs' a didactic poem by the troubadour Guiraut de Calanson.
